Also signed on the text side of the card underneath the note
the verso of the card bears a handwritten note from Lewitt, and is postmarked 1980
This drawing was done for Jerry Ciancolo, a very close longtime personal friend of Sol Lewitt, who was the recipient of many artworks and drawings by the artist over the years.
Lewitt writes,
"Dear Jerry, Thanks very much for the chair. I hope you had a good and happy holiday. " and it is signed Sol Lewitt.
This work has been elegantly floated and framed in a museum quality wood frame under double sided plexiglass to reveal the text and postmark of the other side of the postcard with drawing.
