This offset lithograph poster on smooth poster paper features a photograph of Sharbat Gula, first made famous as the cover of National Geographic's June 1985 issue. The original photo was taken 1984 at an Afghan refugee camp in Peshawar, Pakistan. The "Afghan Girl" remained anonymous until 2002, when McCurry returned to search for her once again. There he found Sharbat Gula, with the same haunting eyes as 17 years earlier. The present poster depicts the 2002 photograph and is boldly signed by hand by the artist in black marker.
