For fans and collectors of Robert Indiana, this is a special work you will not find anywhere in the world. First, it is fully documented in the catalogue raisonne of Robert Indiana's printed works by Susan Sheehan as one of only two Trial Proofs in the entire world for the Wall, Two Stone series of prints. This is Trial Proof number one of two. But the entire edition of this work, numbered IV, is only 10 -- according to the catalogue raisonne. An incredibly small regular edition.
However, in addition, this work bears an entirely unique hand dedication and inscription. Robert Indiana cleverly plays on words here, as the work is titled "Wall: Two Stone" -- and he personally dedicates it to a woman named Terry Wall (Capizzano) in pencil on the print itself - and on the back is the unique inscription in the artist's distinctive hand, "For another Wall", and signs it Robert Indiana - again.
But there's more. In addition to the inscription on the back, Robert Indiana features two unique drawings -- one of a star, (Star of Hope) and the other LOVE -- his famous theme.
This work was a personal gift to a longtime local neigbor and personal friend of Robert Indiana from his remote residence in Maine.
