Madame de Stael was a 19th century novelist, philosopher, political writer and feminist novelist. This plate was inspired by a series of paintings (and later prints) that Judy Chicago did, celebrating the great feminist heroes of history.

Judy Chicago is an artist, author, feminist, educator, and intellectual whose career now spans six decades. In 2018 Chicago was named both one of Time Magazine’s “100 Most Influential People” and a 2018 “Most Influential Artist” by Artsy Magazine. In 2019, she received the Visionary Woman award from the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago.
