An uncommon collectors item: this folded invitation poster was published for Dubuffet exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art from February 21 to April 8, 1962. This poster was reproduced by photolithography in four colors--yellow, blue, black and white. According to Peter Selz, the director of the exhibition, Dubuffet combined graphic imagery with the elements most characteristic of his recent paintings [of that era] to produce a humorous and highly effective poster. The figures resemble those found in graffiti and wall scratchings. The lettering is contained in shapes similar to comic-strip balloons.

As this was a mailer/invitation, it has the original folds as issued.
