This is the very rare original 1971 limited edition offset lithograph poster. This poster was created on the occasion of the Jasper Johns exhibition at Dayton's Gallery 12 and the Minneapolis Institute of Arts in March of 1971. The venerable Dayton's Gallery in Minneapolis, began as a department store gallery, but soon distinguished itself for hosting exhibitions by Jasper Johns, Ken Noland, Jules Olitski, Frank Stella, Larry Poons, Ellsworth Kelly, Robert Rauschenberg, Robert Indiana and many others - becoming known as a Midwestern US cultural powerhouse. Dayton's also famously collaborated with Leo Castelli to promote and exhibit Castelli's stable of artists, and it also collaborated with cultural institutions like the Minneapolis Museum of Art, which collaborated with Dayton's on this Jasper Johns exhibition. A marvelous historical artifact for fans, dealers, collectors, scholars and followers of Jasper Johns and American Pop Art of the 1960s and 1970s
