Ed Ruscha

The Amazing Earth, in gift box hand signed twice by Ed Ruscha, ca. 2017

Re-usable ocean bag created from 5 intercepted plastic bottles. In presentation box, uniquely hand signed twice (2x) by Ed Ruscha

17 × 15 inches

Hand signed by Ed Ruscha in his inimitable signature separately on each of the two sides of the presentation gift box

"No one sees the trash in the ocean. It's easy to not think about it." - Ed Ruscha
This limited-edition bag is based on Ed Ruscha's original painting "The Amazing Earth" from 1984. It is common enough, and can be purchased online at a modest price. However, what makes the present piece a unique and valuable collectors' item is that the gift box that holds the tote is hand signed twice in in by Ed Ruscha - once on each side. It was personally donated by Ruscha to the Los Angeles Art Association (LAAA) for their 2020 Annual Benefit Auction to benefit LAAA, an organization that has contributed to the development of tens of thousands of emerging Angeleno artists. What's so special is that the buyer of this collectible is free to use the handy tote bag as they would normally, but the box, with a print of The Amazing Earth on the top, and twice signed by Ed Ruscha (one on each side), can be elegantly framed in a shadow box or mounted on a display as a true collectors item.
Authenticity of Ruscha's signature unconditionally guaranteed, as the piece was donated by Ruscha to the LAAA Auction.
