Don Judd Castelli Gallery Poster, 1966

Historic limited edition offset poster invitation (the original)

This is the original 1966 Castelli poster - not one of the later re-prints that have alighted since the Judd MOMA retrospective. This exceedingly rare, perfectly square print, designed by Judd himself, was created on the occasion of the Donald Judd exhibition at Leo Castelli Gallery from Feb 5 - Mar 2, 1966. This is THE original poster, not a later reprint. One of the more elusive, collectible and extremely desirable Donald Judd Castelli posters. This print, like many Castelli invitations of that era, was famously undated. A must have for serious collectors, dealers or organizations involved in Donald Judd's legacy.

The Leo Castelli Gallery opened in New York at 4 East 77th Street on February 10, 1957. In 1958 the gallery gave Jasper Johns his first exhibition. Within 10 years, the gallery became the international epicenter for Pop, Minimal, and Conceptual Art, showing among others Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg, Cy Twombly, Frank Stella, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, James Rosenquist, Donald Judd, Dan Flavin, Robert Morris, Bruce Nauman, and Keith Sonnier.
