Statement from the previous owner:
"Wolf Kahn was fairly familiar with New Hampshire, just across the Connecticut River from Brattleboro. When I described our 18th Century colonial on Old Homestead Highway, Scenic Route 32, in Richmond, he was very familiar with the locale; his friends were the Islamic art historians across the road, just a few hundred yards south of us.
Of course I presented a color photo of our home, orchard and the red barn used as a sugarhouse, and asked him if he would create a pastel work.
This wonderful pastel is what he came up with; almost two years later, and well worth the wait..."
