This offset lithograph poster celebrates the collaboration between famed artist Vik Muniz an the Students Rebuild Water Challenge - in partnership with the charity: water and Global Nomads Group, whose goal was to bring clean, safe drinking water to more than 16,000 Tanzanians. This poster was, exceptionally, boldly signed in black marker by Vik Muniz for the present owner, so provenance is excellent.
Born in São Paulo, Brazil in 1961,Vik Muniz is best known for recreating famous imagery from art history and pop culture with food or everyday objects, such as sugar, thread, chocolate syrup and garbage, and then photographing them.
His work has been exhibited widely throughout the world and is included in numerous international public and private collections, including the Museum of Modern Art, New York; The Tate Gallery, London; Museu de Arte Moderna de São Paulo, Brazil; and Fondation Cartier pour L’Art Contemporain, Paris.
Muniz currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
