Welcome to our modern and contemporary art boutique! Please check out the "About Us" section at the bottom to learn about our history, contact us and/or to arrange to visit our Chelsea, Manhattan showroom. We'd love to meet you! You can also find us on Artsy, Artnet, Artspace and 1stDibs - but our small, family owned business has been selling fine art, rare books, coveted exhibition ephemera and conversation pieces online before all of them! For the privacy of our clients and for ease in viewing, we typically remove works from this website after they have sold out - and we do not publish or share sold prices.

Description
This offset lithograph is based upon Longo's 1982 untitled work featuring one of his models, Gretchen, a charcoal and graphite on paper. Robert Longo’s “Men in Cities” series, featuring well-dressed individuals in a variety of contorted poses, constitutes an instantly-recognizable and longstanding body of work now synonymous with the artist’s name. Set on the rooftop of Longo’s apartment building, these images capture figures as they duck and dive from flying objects launched by the artist. Longo famously turned on a tennis ball machine which would shoot out balls as his models would 'dance' to avoid getting hit. Authentically frantic and reactionary, the works reveal unexpected moments of bodily grace. Elegantly framed in wood frame with UV museum- plexiglass.
Limited edition of only 100 hand signed. A hand signed vintage offset-lithograph exhibition poster on heavy wove paper by American artist Robert Longo (1953-) titled "Men in the Cities: Gretchen", 1991. Hand signed in black marker by Longo lower right. Unnumbered from the limited edition of 100. Published for Act Up and Amnesty International. Text at bottom right margin: A portion of the proceeds goes to benefit Act Up and Amnesty International. © 1991 Robert Longo.
