Lithograph on Arches BFK Rives paper
This work bears the blind stamp of the Magritte Foundation & ADAGP
Plate signed by Magritte and numbered HC (aside from the regular edition of 275). It is one of only 15 HC prints, reserved for the Magritte Foundation.
(HC means Hors Commerce, which means not intended for resale by the foundation, so this means that they are more unique. It was acquired through the Weghe gallery. Anne-Gaelle Van de Weghe explained,
"This came straight from my dear friend, Charly Herscovici who created the Magritte Foundation. The work couldn’t have a better provenance."
Authorized, supervised and validated by the ADAGP (Society of Authors in the Graphic and Plastic Arts) and by Mr. Charly Herscovici, President of the Magritte Foundation, Chairman of the Magritte Museum and unique representative of the Magritte Succession.
A gem for Magritte lovers, as it remains one of the artist's most iconic and enduring images.
