United We Stand: Four Statues of Liberty with Blue Statue of Liberty, 2001

Unique acrylic and Mixed Media painting. Hand Signed. Framed.

32 × 28 inches

This original painting was done by Max in 2001 - nearly two decades ago - and became extremely desirable and poignant in the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Original unique hand signed acrylic and mixed media painting with collage by famed Pop Artist Peter Max. This painting is in excellent condition with bright colors; Framed and ready to hang. 100% unique and guaranteed authentic. Perhaps no artist in the world has painted the Statue of Liberty more than Peter Max. The famous Pop Artist, who took the colorful, psychedelic surrealism of the 1960s into the mainstream of American culture, first painted the Statue of Liberty for the United States Bicentennial in 1976. Those paintings were presented to President Jimmy Carter in the White House in that year. Max later painted a series of Lady Liberty portraits presented to President Ronald Reagan for the statue's centennial in 1986. When he learned that the actual Statue of Liberty had fallen into disrepair, Max persuaded Lee Iacocca, then chairman of Chrysler, to sponsor a series of paintings to help raise money to restore the statue
