This rare offset lithograph was created on the occasion of the Peter H. Beard historic exhibition at the International Center for Photography from November 13, 1977 - January 22, 1978. This opening was a major New York event: Jackie Kennedy Onassis accompanied Peter Beard at the opening, and the society pages photographed Andy Warhol, Beard's good friend making his entrance - as well as many other influential public figures of the late 1970s. Very rare and collectible when hand signed.
Filling ICP's entire gallery space, this exhibition explored Peter Beard's documentation of the effects of civilization's encroachment on Africa over the past decades.

World renowned photographer Peter Beard is well-known as one of Andy Warhol's friends and artistic collaborators during the Studio 54 and Factory days. But of all his many achievements, including his critically acclaimed wildlife photography, Beard is perhaps best known as the photographer who famously discovered the model Iman in Somalia, and whose images of her helped catapult her to international superstardom. Iman would later marry rock star David Bowie.
