This classic 1980s Mel Ramos lithograph, Candy (Baby Ruth), is a rare, hand signed and dedicated Proof, was acquired from the Amity Art Foundation, as part of the collection of artist and master print maker Jorge Dumas, owner and founder of the famed Atelier Dumas in New York. Signed in pencil 'Mel Ramos' lower right. Inscribed to printer Jorge Dumas of Atelier Dumas, Inc. New York with "To Jorge" in pencil lower left. This print was was part of an archive of lithographs from the Dumas Estate, acquired by the Amity Art Foundation, that included works by artists - Jorge Dumas, Salvador Dali, Mel Ramos, Guillaume Corneille, Walasse Ting and others. In the present work, Mel Ramos conveys a woman suggestively emerging from an oversized Baby Ruth candy bar, complete with torn wrapper edges. Unframed and in very good condition.
