Here is the striking Sixties lithograph and photocollage , printed in colours on wove paper by Chiron Press, New York, hand signed in ink by German Pop Artist Mary Bauermeister (b. 1934).
The result is a combination of DADA influenced Pop Art print and assemblage. This lot is for the print (sheet) alone.
The provenance is the 1966 New York International Portfolio, the second in a series published by Tanglewood Press, featuring a group of international artists on the New York scene, including Arman, Oyvind Fahlstrom, Mary Baumeister, Allen Jones and John Goodyear as well as established American artists like Robert Motherwell, James Rosenquist, and Ad Reinhardt. (The portfolio introduction was written by renowned Metropolitan Museum curator Henry Geldzahler.)
This work of art is in excellent condition.
Sixties Pop and mid century modern works of art like this are back in vogue.
