Turkey Dracula, 1972

Watercolor on French Arches watermarked paper with deckled edges
22 × 22 × 1 in
55.9 × 55.9 × 2.5 cm
Unique

Billy Al Bengston, a friend and contemporary of Ed Ruscha, is one of the founders of the "California Cool" movement, and one of the original Ferus Gallery artists. This is the original (unique) 1972 watercolor; the following year Turkey Dracula was editioned as a lithograph. De-accessioned from the Hess Corporate Collection, bearing their labels and inventory number verso. Elegantly floated and framed in glazed acrylic by Bark Frameworks, bearing their label as well. (see photos)

There is some unobtrusive overall waviness to the float framed sheet (see photos); otherwise fine.
