Watercolor on paper (bears original Louis Meisel Gallery label on the back)

Pencil signed and titled by the artist on the front, bears Louise Meisel gallery label on the back, with unique inventory number

This is a rather charming, intimate unique watercolor. Now in her 90s, legendary photorealist pioneer Audrey Flack was recently chosen by the editors at Artsy as one of five top overlooked women artists in their 90s. This work was acquired from the estate of Dick Polich, owner of Polich Artworks and Tallix Fine Art Foundry, and it bears the original label of the prestigious Louis Meisel Gallery at 141 Prince Street. Meisel famously coined the term "photorealist art" and Audrey Flack is one of the premier photorealist artists in the world:

Audrey Flack (b. 1931, New York, New York) is most recognized for her Photorealist still lifes that depict dressing tables, food, and flowers and address stereotypes of feminine identities. Flack currently identifies as a sculptor, producing both small and oversized works bronze works of the female figure. She has received several notable public commissions including “Beloved Woman of Justice” for the Howard Baker Junior Federal Courthouse in Knoxville, TN, which has been declared a national landmark for the Cherokee Nation.
