Andrea Belag Biography
Andrea Belag’s paintings and works on paper have been widely exhibited and collected throughout the US and internationally, in venues that include: The Jewish Museum, NY; Pera Museum, Istanbul, Turkey; Mead Museum, Amherst; Newark Museum, NJ; New Jersey State Museum, NJ; Heinz Holtmann, Cologne,Germany; Sprengel Museum, Hanover, Germany and Jeddah Collection, United States Embassy, Saudi Arabia. Recent exhibitions include; Gallery Gris, Hudson NY, Cuevas Tilleard, NY, Edward Thorp Gallery, NY, DCKT Contemporary, NY. and SHFAP, NY.
Belag has been the recipient of various honors and fellowships : The Guggenheim Foundation, Rockefeller Foundation at Bellagio, Italy; National Endowment for the Arts; Yaddo Foundation, NJ State Council on the Arts. She completed a commission for the MTA Arts for Transit and Urban Design that was installed summer, 2017.
The artist lives and works in New York City and Far Rockaway, Queens. She was educated at the New York Studio of Drawing, Painting & Sculpture and is currently a faculty member at the School of Visual Arts.
