Note: this is the original rare vintage hand signed and numbered screenprint from the City Center portfolio - not to be confused with the more common unsigned poster version.
This stunning, rare silkscreen was created by Robert Indiana as part of the New York City Center of Music and Drama portfolio, to raise funds for its 25 Anniversary celebration. It is boldly signed and numbered by Robert Indiana on the recto (front) of the work. Artists who contributed works to this important portfolio are Richard Anuszkiewicz, Jim Dine, Robert Indiana, Gerald Laing, Lowell Nesbitt, George Segal and Jack Youngerman.

Indiana is one of the last living American Pop Art legends and was recently the subject of a major 2013 retrospective at the Whitney Museum of American Art entitled "Beyond Love" - though he considers his own work more Hard Edge in the tradition of Ellsworth Kelly, rather than Pop.

This work was created in 1968 - one of the most influential eras in the artist's career. A bright, bold impression. Makes a great gift for fans of Robert Indiana, and for lovers of art and drama in New York City!

Excellent condition.
